India and Pakistan meet in the DP World Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2026 on Sunday, 8 November, at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman. The match begins at 10:30 AM IST and is the headline fixture of the group stage.

Both teams arrive in winning form. India beat Nepal by 10 wickets in their opening match, while Pakistan beat the UAE by nine wickets. With both sides on two points, Sunday’s result could decide who finishes top of Group A.

The rivalry needs no introduction, and the youth fixture carries the same weight as the senior contests. For the young players on both sides, it is the biggest match of their careers so far, and a chance to make a name for themselves on a big stage.

India’s opening win

India’s opening match against Nepal was a one-sided affair. Nepal were bowled out for 128, with Ishan Sood and Arjun Rajput taking three wickets each. India then chased the target without losing a wicket, with Aaryavir Sehwag making an unbeaten 70 and Lakshya Raichandani scoring 53.

The win was a statement of intent from the defending champions, who looked sharp in all departments. The bowlers kept Nepal under pressure from the start, and the openers finished the chase in quick time.

Pakistan’s opening win

Pakistan’s opening match against the UAE was also comfortable. The UAE made 224, with Mohammad Sayyam taking three wickets and Ali Raza, Rizwanullah and Hasnain Abbas Dar taking two each. Pakistan then chased the target of 225 for the loss of one wicket, winning by nine wickets.

The chase was built on a solid opening partnership, and Pakistan never looked in trouble. The win showed that the side has depth in both batting and bowling, and they will be a tough opponent for India.

Last meeting: India won by 58 runs

The last time the two sides met at this level was in the U-19 World Cup on 1 February 2026, when India won by 58 runs. India made 252, with Vedant Trivedi scoring 68, and Pakistan were bowled out for 194, with Khilan Patel and Ayush Mhatre taking three wickets each.

That result will give India confidence, but the Pakistan side has changed since then, and the Asia Cup is a different tournament. The conditions in Oman, with the heat and the slow wickets, could also play a part.

Where to watch

The match will be shown live on the Sony Sports Network and streamed on the SonyLIV app and website. Play begins at 10:30 AM IST at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman.

India are the favourites on form, but the Pakistan side has the bowling to trouble any batting line-up. The toss could be important in the Oman heat, with the side batting first looking to set a target and let the spinners take over in the second innings.
