The sixth edition of Konkan Fiesta, a Goan-carnival-inspired celebration of music, food and togetherness, was held at Soorya Woods, Maroli, on Saturday, 7 November. The event has grown into one of Mangaluru's popular annual celebrations.

Title sponsor for the event was Mukund Realty. It was organised by Fishing Cactus and curated by Hera Pinto, and began in 2018 as a carnival-style gathering for the city.

A growing crowd

The previous edition drew nearly 4,500 people, and this year a massive gathering turned up at Soorya Woods. The turnout shows how the fiesta has grown from a small carnival idea into a large city event.

Music on stage

The main attraction was the band GODGODO, making its Mangaluru debut at the fiesta. The band's first performance in the city was the highlight of the evening for many in the crowd.

Also performing were Alpha Rhythms, Oline Theodore and DJ Royan, with MC Ankita hosting the evening and keeping the crowd engaged between acts.

Food and drink

Food was served by Josh Caterers, while Wines and Spiritz and Drunk in Love were also part of the event. The food stalls added to the carnival feel, with visitors sampling dishes through the evening.

Technical production was handled by Kumar Lighting and Sounds, whose lights and sound set the stage for the performances.

A carnival for the city

Konkan Fiesta began in 2018, and six editions later it has become a fixture in Mangaluru's calendar, bringing Goan carnival spirit to the coastal city. The mix of music, food and togetherness is what keeps the crowd coming back each year.

This year's edition at Soorya Woods, Maroli, kept that tradition alive, with a debut band, familiar performers and a large crowd celebrating together.
