Bollywood relationships that ended long ago still draw attention, and few more than Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor. Both have since moved on and have families of their own, but their first joint appearance on a show together, with Shahid's wife Mira Rajput as Kareena's guest on What Women Want, has caught everyone's eye. It is the first time Kareena and Mira have appeared together on a show.

In a promo for an upcoming episode, Mira put an end to speculation about the family expanding. When Kareena asked her what the strangest rumour she had heard about herself was, Mira said it was the constant speculation about a third child with Shahid. Kareena joked, "It could happen," to which Mira replied at once, "Absolutely not, our family is complete."

Motherhood at a young age, no regrets

Kareena also asked Mira about her experience of becoming a mother young, and whether she would have preferred motherhood at another stage of life. Mira said she would not change anything about her journey. Motherhood, she said, is a challenge at whatever stage it comes, and while she and Kareena had children at different stages, she was sure both had faced those challenges.

What helped her most at the time, Mira said, was having Shahid, who was very supportive. She added that she had learned a lot about raising children by watching her two elder sisters, who already had children of their own. There were challenges, she said, but she would not have wanted it any other way. Kareena had earlier shared a photo from the set with Mira on her Instagram story, calling her a lovely person, and Mira re-shared the post, thanking Kareena for inviting her on the show.

How Shahid and Mira split parenting

Asked about sharing parenting work with Shahid, Mira said dividing responsibilities between husband and wife was essential because one person cannot do everything. At home, she explained, Shahid looks after sports and diet, while she handles homework, birthday parties, classes and the rest. When one of them is travelling, the other takes over those duties.

The meeting drew extra attention because Kareena and Shahid were once in a relationship. The two met during the shooting of Fida in 2004, grew close, and worked together in Chup Chup Ke, 36 China Town and Jab We Met, before their relationship ended in 2007 during the shooting of Jab We Met. Kareena married actor Saif Ali Khan in October 2012, and the couple have two sons, Taimur and Jehangir. Shahid married Mira Rajput in July 2015, and the couple have two children, daughter Misha and son Zain.
