A woman driving a BMW in Mumbai was caught on camera arguing with a traffic police officer who stood in front of her car and repeatedly asked her to stop. Despite the officer's warnings, she continued inching the vehicle forward, seemingly pushing him back with the car, before accusing those around her of harassing her.

The video was shared by X user Lakshay Mehta and showed the tense confrontation unfold on a busy road. According to the caption accompanying the clip, the woman had allegedly hit a scooter, a motorcycle and a car in Juhu before attempting to flee the scene.

What the video shows

In the video, a traffic police officer was seen standing directly in front of the BMW, with his hands placed on its bonnet as the woman continued driving slowly towards him. He repeatedly asked her to stop, saying, "Madam, please stop driving. Stop the car." However, the woman appeared to ignore his warnings and kept moving forward while shouting at him. A bystander, who was already recording the confrontation on her phone, then approached the vehicle and asked the woman to stop.

The woman dismissively waved her hand at the other lady, who then walked up to the car and opened its rear door, urging her to stop again. The woman, meanwhile, pulled out her own phone and began recording the people around her, claiming that she was being harassed. As Mehta mentioned in the caption of his post, the traffic officer had intervened after the woman hit multiple vehicles and tried to leave the spot. It further claimed that people nearby eventually stepped in to stop her and opened the car doors, but she continued blaming the police and those confronting her.

How social media reacted

The video prompted strong reactions online, with several users criticising the woman's alleged behaviour and questioning why she continued driving despite a police officer standing directly in front of her vehicle. Some compared the response to what they believed would have happened in the United States, arguing that police there would have pulled the driver out of the car. Others expressed concern for the officer's safety, pointing out that he could have been seriously injured or even run over while trying to stop the moving vehicle. A few users also criticised what they saw as an attitude of entitlement, arguing that people should not be allowed to disregard police instructions and then turn the confrontation into an allegation of harassment.
