Amit Sadh, known for choosing offbeat films and a string of OTT projects, will now be seen alongside Esha Deol in Pratap, and the trailer has found favour with fans.

What happens when a police officer who has spent his life putting criminals behind bars finds himself caught in the grip of the law? The trailer of Pratap gives a glimpse of that extraordinary turn in the life of a brave and respected encounter specialist, a turn that changes his entire world. Amit Sadh plays Pratap, a police officer whose life changes completely when he himself ends up behind bars. The trailer moves between his past and present, raising questions about the circumstances that send Pratap to jail and the challenges that now face him. Amit Sadh on his character
Speaking about his character, Amit Sadh said: "Pratap is not a conventional policeman's story. That is why the journey of this character attracted me. It is the story of a man who spent his whole life enforcing the law, but one day finds himself standing on the other side of the law. There are many emotions and contradictions within this character, which were interesting for me to play as an actor. The trailer gives you a glimpse of his world, but there is still much in his story that is yet to unfold on screen."

Esha Deol said what struck her most about Pratap was that the story is not as simple as it looks from above, and it has many layers. As events move forward, she said, viewers start seeing the characters and their circumstances from a different perspective. She called working with Amit and Sachin a wonderful experience and said she wants audiences to watch the film and discover what is special in it for them. Writer-director Sachin Saraf said that through Pratap he wanted to tell the story of a man whose life changes completely when he finds himself in a situation he never imagined. The film is about decisions, their consequences and the fine line between right and wrong, he said, adding that action and emotions have been kept as per the needs of the story and shown close to reality, and the trailer is only the beginning of the story that will unfold in the film.
Release date and cast
Producer Pradeep Rangwani said Pratap is a film they worked very hard on and have full faith in, and that from the start they trusted Sachin's vision and story. Amit has brought depth to his character, he said, and the film also has a wonderful team of experienced actors who strengthen the story. He said they are happy to finally share the trailer with audiences and are excited to bring Pratap to cinemas on 20 November. Written and directed by Sachin Saraf, Pratap also stars Seema Biswas, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Milind Gunaji in important roles. Made by Pradeep Rangwani and UV Films, the film will release in theatres on 20 November 2026.
