Early Life and Career
Mahhi Vij was born on 1 April 1982 in New Delhi and moved to Mumbai at the age of 17. She went to Lilawati Vidya Mandir School in Delhi and completed her further studies at the University of Delhi. She began in entertainment at 18 with DJ Aqeel's 2002 remix music video 'Tu Tu Hai Wahi', in which she played the lead, a call-centre employee. She began her career as a model before moving into acting. Her film debuts came in 2004, in the Malayalam film Aparichithan and the Telugu film Tapana. She made her television debut in Akela in 2006, playing Meghna.
Her breakthrough came as Nakusha in the Colors show Laagi Tujhse Lagan, which ran from 2009 to 2012, opposite Mishal Raheja. She took part in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4 in 2010-11, and won Nach Baliye 5 in 2013 with Jay Bhanushali. Bigg Boss 20
Mahhi Vij entered Bigg Boss 20 on 6 September 2026 as the last of the 16 original housemates. The season, hosted by Salman Khan, airs on JioHotstar and Colors TV. She became captain of the house from 23 October 2026 (Week 8). She was nominated in Week 4 and Week 8, and again in Week 9, when captain Kanika Mann named her first in the Chain Reaction nomination task on 2 November 2026.
Inside the house she had a kitchen fight with Amrapali Dubey over cooking chicken in September, and repeated clashes with Love Gill and Arishfa Khan. On 24 October, guest host Rohit Shetty told her and Amrapali to play individually rather than be couch potatoes.
In Family Week, in the episode of 4 November, an audio message from Love Gill's mother called Mahhi out over a remark Mahhi had made about Love. Mahhi broke down, said the makers showed only her negative side, threatened to quit the show and said she did not care about the prize money. She did not leave, and no exit was confirmed by 6 November 2026. In the same episode she destroyed Arishfa Khan's family-message cassette to save her own lifeline.
She was nominated in Week 9.
